Notes

The page recalculates every time the Community select list is changed.

Daylight Savings Time ends November 7th, 2010.

In addition to Sunrise and Sunset, this page also calculates Astronomical Twilight (dark enough to see features in the sky), Nautical Twilight (on a West Texas Flat Sea, the light is more reliable), and Civil Twilight (Dark, but not too dark). These are when the sun is 18, 12 and 6 Degrees below the horizon. There is a correction in the calculations for Atmospheric Refraction (34 arc minutes) and for the size of the sun (16 arc minutes).

The "County Time" point is an average over County Seat Latitudes, at the State Capital Longitude. This point normalizes the Equation of Time. To make a long story short, there is no Midnight on a Sundial, and Noon on your watch is not Solar Noon.

The Weather Forecasts for some off-shore Territories may or may not work, but should work for the 50 States and District of Columbia.

The Map and Weather information links are made automatically by plugging in Latitude and Longitude.
